PROJECT BRIEF:
Welcome to Sarah ‘s Nail Salon, a beautifully and enchanted nail salon located in the heart of 19th Avenue Shopping Centre. In collaboration with 360 Design Work, Bato Studio has designed a modern, welcoming space that perfectly blends sophistication and warmth. With a design that emphasizes clean lines and natural materials, this 45m² salon offers a relaxing and inviting environment, ensuring an exceptional experience for every client.
The salon features high 3-meter ceilings, amplifying the feeling of openness. The carefully selected materials—white-painted walls, marble surfaces, and birch plywood shelves and cabinetry—create a serene and elegant environment. The layout is thoughtfully divided into functional zones: a reception, waiting area, manicure and pedicure spaces, and a staff room.
The reception area is a standout with its dual-purpose cabinet that houses tools and displays vibrant nail polish colors. Potted greenery adds a touch of nature, enhancing the minimalistic design. In the manicure area, four sleek, minimalist tables provide a stylish and functional workspace. The pedicure section includes four tan-brown leather chairs, harmonizing with the soft neutral tones and adding warmth to the space.
A focal point of the design is the glowing Sarah neon logo in soft pink and green hues, adding a playful and vibrant element to the otherwise calm aesthetic. The wooden flooring in the client areas and white tiles in the staff room complete the look, balancing practicality with comfort.
The staff room is designed with the same attention to detail, featuring birch plywood cabinetry and marble finishes, creating a calm retreat for employees.
The project presented a series of unique challenges, from meeting fire-resistant material standards to ensuring efficient water supply and drainage systems. Additionally, maintaining proper accessibility with minimum 1 meter clearance and suitable door circulation was crucial. Bato Studio and 360 Design Work tackled each of these challenges with innovative solutions, ensuring full compliance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Through careful planning and attention to detail, the salon not only met regulatory requirements but also delivered a seamless, elevated experience for its clients.
