Marrickville Golf Club, located in Marrickville, NSW, was a prime example of our expertise in action. In 2024, we were tasked with creating a comprehensive 3D model of the club, which spans 780m² over two levels. The project was on a tight deadline, needing completion in just one week, right before Christmas. This meant that every detail had to be meticulously planned and executed under considerable time pressure.

The project began by creating 3D models of the existing building, focusing on areas that required expansion, such as the Mini Golf and Pro Shop. To ensure accuracy, we first produced 2D and 3D representations of the current layout, capturing everything from the mini golf course, parking areas, and loading zones to the restaurant, kitchen, offices, bar, game room, and bathrooms.

A major challenge we encountered was the inability to directly measure some areas using laser tools due to height restrictions. We resolved this by employing video footage, real-life images, and onsite measurements to estimate heights accurately. Additionally, aerial imagery from Nearmap helped us map out the boundaries and surrounding space, while 3D views from Google Maps and Sixmap provided a clear understanding of the site’s elevations and layout.

Despite the tight timeframe, Bato Studio successfully delivered a detailed 3D model of the Marrickville Golf Club, providing our client with the necessary tools to visualize and plan future expansions with precision and confidence. This project highlights our ability to adapt to challenges and deliver high-quality, accurate models, even under pressure. The final model is not only a tool for visualizing the expansion but also a valuable asset for planning the future growth of the golf club.
