PROJECT BRIEF
This project allows us to have exposure to Heritage Conservation. Our client engaged us to produce a detailed model of the current heritage-listed house. As usual, Heritage projects require special skills and knowledge to understand the details and characteristics of their era. With this project, we had to do substantial research to define the specific details of the building and replicate them exactly.
It is a challenging project due to the location of the site. Since the site locates in a remote area, we could not perform a site inspection as usual. The only tool that we had were the photographic materials provided by the clients. Additionally, the building had some minor defects due to natural aging. These defects might affect the accuracy of the details. Moreover, we had only ten days to research and produce the model. Time constraints and physical restrictions increased the pressure on our team.
In this scenario, our team quickly got into action. Firstly, we thoroughly researched the details based on the documents and instructions from the Heritage conservation authority. We contacted the professional Heritage Advisor to evaluate the models to ensure the accuracy of the drawings. We continued to modify the models after receiving feedback from the Heritage Advisors. Thanks to the perseverance and hard-working ethic of our teammates, we successfully produced the closest version of the building within the tight schedule of the project.
